Sunrise 2017 Programme

Thoughts on last years Sunrise

"What a fantastic and magical weekend, we loved every second of it!!! The setting was beautiful, all events and activities were thoughtfully arranged and everyone was catered for. We have 5 kids from 0-11 and all of them got so much out of the weekend. The perfect mixture of excitement and fun and also plenty calming and relaxing. The staff were wonderful and so helpful. It is hands down the best festival we have been to!! Well done and we will most definitely be back next year... and the year after...and the year after that..." Laura Whalen

Festival Times

Free camping on Saturday night is included for all weekend ticket holders and families are free to arrive from 8.30am to set up their tents. For those who have purchased the optional Friday night camping ticket, the campsite will open at 4pm on Friday 6th July. There will be hot food, snacks and a wine bar available in the Garden Café from 5pm.

The festival kicks off at 10am on Saturday morning and runs throughout the evening until 9.30pm. Sunday is the same, with an early start of 10am but we will be wrapping up the show at approximately 4.30pm.

Camping, Food & Facilities

This year will see all camping facilites upgraded! Campsites will be adjacent to the car park and as close as possible to the festival activities as well as guaranteed to be clean and mown. There will also be the addition of a dedicated wheelchair accessible campsite area close to the Visitor Centre. See lots more upgrades under facilities.

Camping

Camping is FREE for all weekend ticket holders who wish to pitch a tent and camp underneath the starts after an amazing fire spectacular and bonfire on Saturday night.

There is an option to set up camp on Friday evening at a small additional cost (€25). Select this add-on while booking and join us from 4pm on Friday.

Otherwise the camping grounds and car parks open at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday 7th July and will close on Sunday 8th July at 6p.m.

There will be Brigit's Garden volunteers on hand to help families pitch their tents quickly so as not to miss out on the family fun.

The Garden Café will be open from 9.00 a.m. to serve breakfast- freshly baked scones, cereals, homemade brown bread, delicious coffees and herbal teas (see below for more information on food). For those camping on Friday night there will be hot food, snacks and a wine bar available in the Garden Café from 5pm.

The camping grounds are accessible by foot only so people are advised to pack lightly.

People should bring their own tents as there will be none available to rent at the festival, though we are looking into the possibility of introducing Glamping this year. Watch this space!

Unfortunately BBQs are not allowed on the festival grounds. Campers may bring their own gas stoves but must use them with caution and be mindful of our young customers.

Location

Driving along the N59 from Galway city you will pass through a small town called Moycullen. Follow the festival traffic signs.

A few kilometres after this you will reach the small village of Roscahill. You will then see a brown heritage signpost on the left hand side of the road with Brigit's Garden name on it pointing to Turn Right. Take this right and the entrance to Brigit's Garden is on the left approximately 2km from this turn (after the community centre and church on the left hand-side).

For those using GPS or Google Maps, they may direct you turn right at Connemara Motors but it is more efficient if you continue onwards with the festival traffic signs.
