Wonderful thank you cards from local students in St. Annin's National School, Roscahill
It was truly heartwarming to receive such wonderful Thank You cards from local students in St. Annin's National School, Roscahill who took part in Nature's Power workshops at Brigit's Garden supported by the Galway Science Festival 2016.
Their teachers thanked the staff for a 'most thought-provoking and inspiring day in Brigit's Garden', mentioning that;
the content was very appropriate and the facilitators pitched it at the perfect level...they were so informative, energetic and always kept it fun for the children.
The students learned about hydroelectricity, solar power, biomass and wind energy through interactive games, experiments and discussions. Thanks to all the students and staff at St. Annin's who took part in our Nature's Power programme.
What are Nature's Power Workshops?
Nature's Power workshops focus on energy, climate change and sustainable technologies and are available throughout the year at Brigit's Garden for both primary and post-primary students.
There will also be specialised Nature's Power workshops for Engineers Week 2017 this March 4th-10th where students will have the opportunity to design and test small-scale wind turbine blades themselves.
Our 'Signs of Spring' workshop is also available, with seed-sowing in the polytunnel, searching for clues of springtime in the Celtic Gardens and stories and traditions of St. Brigit. 3 hour workshops cost €9.50 per student.
Brigit's Garden is a Discover Primary Science and Maths accredited Discover Centre.
