Connecting People & Nature

Brigit‘s Garden is regarded as one of the most picturesque gardens of Ireland. The unique Celtic Gardens take you on a magical journey into the heart of Celtic heritage and mythology, making it one of the truly outstanding family-friendly places to visit in the West of Ireland.  Set within 11 acres of native woodland & wildflower meadows, visitors can enjoy the sun trail, an ancient ring fort (fairy fort), kids’ nature trail, thatched roundhouse and crannóg, and the calendar sundial, the largest in Ireland.

Certainly a place we’ll return to

The gardens and natural spaces are beautiful and peaceful. Lunch at the cafe was delicious, with several well-designed vegetarian dishes. All of the staff members were warm and kind, and even greeted our dogs with biscuits. This is certainly a place we’ll return to, and bring along friends and visitors.

Exceeded all my expectations

I had been meaning to visit for a long time and the experience exceeded all my expectations. The gardens are truly beautiful, linking our Celtic past and looking after the wildlife now and into the future. The 4 ‘seasonal’ gardens are stunning and really told the story of nature throughout the year. The rest of the site has lots of interesting attractions and plenty of space to wander. Our visit was much longer than expected. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch (and something sweet) from the cafe and spent time in the gift shop. Every staff member we met were welcoming and friendly and added to a great day out. I will definitely be back as I have a few more wishes to hang on the tree!

Can’t wait to go back

We arrived by bike, the car park was full but the entrance and Cafe were pleasantly quiet and we were straight away looked after by two lovely girls at the Café. My raspberry muffin was delicious, my daughter’s brownie repaid her of the cycling effort, and the coffees were just right and beautifully presented. We sat in the outdoor area that was buzzing with young families and the Gardens looked glorious in the sunshine. My teenage daughter is eager to go back and visit the gardens… imagine a teenager wanting to visit a garden? They definitely do things well in this place!
