“Let’s go down to the woods today” – cancelled

Update 25th March: Unfortunately, the Tree Week event is cancelled. Brigit’s Garden will be open as normal from 10am – 5pm.

To mark National Tree Week at Brigit’s Garden, please join us for a special family-friendly “Let’s go down to the woods today” event on Sunday 26th of March from 1pm.

Enjoy the fresh woodland air of Esker Woods and the natural playground all around Brigit’s Garden. Each family member can find their own astrological tree sign, learn about the incredible mechanisms that take place to make a tree grow and take part in fun games and interactive activities to explore the wonder and awe of the woods.

Biodiversity in trees

This year, National Tree Week is highlighting the importance of biodiversity in trees.  Biodiversity is a term that is used to describe both the diverse kinds of life that exist as well as the variety of ecosystems. Animals, plants, fungi, protists and bacteria make up our natural world. Each of these species works together to maintain balance and support life on Earth.

Biodiversity supports everything in nature that we humans need to survive like food and clean water. It enriches our lives. We love to use every chance we can get to be close to nature, to sit and absorb and feel our mental and physical health repair.

Forest Facilitator, Kelly Wengronowitz, will be leading the group from 1 – 2.30pm.
